Your office on the move.
Sustainable mobility is a multi-facetted topic: it is important to consider when your journey should get underway and how the journey time can be utilised. The option of working on the move allows employees and entire companies to organise their mobility more sustainably.
Every day, SBB carries almost a million people to their workplace in an environmentally friendly, punctual and safe manner, thereby making an important contribution to the Swiss economy and the country's prosperity.
At the same time, it is in the interest of SBB and its customers alike that not all passengers travel at once. Mobile working makes it possible to occasionally avoid travelling to work, or at least needing to travel when everyone else is doing the same. If commuter traffic is better spread out, all train passengers will have more space and comfort, and, by not taking the costly option of expanding services, SBB makes long-term savings of millions of francs for the benefit of the country.
A better quality of life. Increasingly, employees require greater flexibility in their everyday working lives. Academic studies prove that working at home for one day each week improves quality of life, thereby increasing employees' motivation and productivity. People who can get things done from home or while travelling are also more successful at juggling family and work.
Travel time is usable time. SBB makes mobile working easier. Passengers can use rail journeys to engage in various activities. Using a laptop to work, read or make appointments – trains are becoming more and more like offices. There are workstations with power sockets available in 75% of the air-conditioned long-distance trains – in 1st and 2nd class. Furthermore, Swisscom and SBB offer wireless broadband Internet access on certain routes and at 31 Swiss railway stations.
