Information Technology.

As a reliable internal business partner, SBB Information Technology contributes greatly to the success of SBB. In today's railway industry, IT plays a key role in almost every stage of the value-added chain.

SBB Information Technology undertakes to constantly improve the productivity of SBB business processes and to provide innovative solutions for customers through the continuously optimised use of IT. 860 highly committed internal employees strive to honour this pledge day in, day out.

A look at the IT portfolio reveals the wide spectrum of services, which range from developing and operating the SBB internet portal to implementing one of Europe's leading sales systems and managing ticket machines in stations.

The overall importance of IT in the development of SBB is reflected, for example, in the efficiency of the railway infrastructure: practically the only way of increasing traffic volumes without expanding the network is by the enhanced use of IT tools in planning, production and maintenance.
