A rich heritage.
An important part of Switzerland’s wealth is its cultural heritage that dates back over several millennia, and its wonderfully varied natural heritage. To date, eleven sites in Switzerland have been classified by UNESCO as World Cultural or Natural Heritage. They are among the 962 sites considered to be of outstanding value to humanity that appear on the UNESCO World Heritage List and illustrate the diversity of nature and of human cultural achievement.
Biospheres are regions of exemplary sustainable development and focus on the relationship between humankind and nature.
