The new TGV Rhin-Rhône route is open as of now, bringing Paris even closer to you: three hours from Basel and four hours from Zurich. Also, the new "Lyriapremière" service is now available in 1st class.

 The TGV is the French high-speed train used for all the important national and European connections. It offers the following facilities:

  • 1st class: at-seat meals (only available for specified trains), power sockets, reading lamps, taxi reservations for Paris, wheelchair section.
  • 2nd class: family section, office areas with power sockets.
  • Bicycle compartment in 2nd class from Zurich main station and Basel SBB.
  • Bar car.
  • Seat reservations are required.
  • Fare includes ticket and compulsory seat reservation.

"Lyriapremière" is included in the price of a 1st-class ticket on international trains from Switzerland to Paris and comprises the following services:

  • A wide range of cold food served at your seat
  • Newspapers and magazines in several languages (German/French/English)
  • At-seat service throughout your journey

Your connections to France.

  • Up to 9 direct connections a day: Geneva to Paris.
  • Up to 5 direct connections a day: Brig and Lausanne to Dijon and Paris.
  • Up to 1 direct connection a day: Bern and Neuchâtel to Dijon and Paris.
  • Up to 6 connections a day from Zurich main station and Basel SBB to Paris.

Fare conditions.

Market prices for TGV.

For the TGV high-speed trains a special price system is applied: the so-called "market prices". The earlier you book, the cheaper you travel. Market prices include ticket, seat reservation and any supplements.

Low prices on TGV Lyria for early bookers.

With the Piccolissimo or Piccolo early booker fares, you can get to Paris for an incredibly low price. 

  • The earlier you buy your ticket, the cheaper you travel.
  • The best seats at the lowest prices are limited.
  • Children aged four to twelve get a 50% discount.
  • Piccolissimo: Buy 90 to 60 days before departure. No exchanges, no refunds.
  • Piccolo: Buy 90 to 14 days before departure. No exchanges, no refunds.
  • Variable prices depending on availability at the time of purchase.


Loisir fares.

  • Available in 1st and 2nd class.
  • The Loisir fares offer a discount of 15 to 25%.
  • Purchase of return ticket required.
  • Depending on the fare, you need to stay at least one night at the destination (either from Saturday to Sunday or a night of your choice).
