Ticino – On the sunny side of life.
In Ticino, as in love, opposites attract. Palm trees and glaciers, lakes and mountains, ancient churches and contemporary architecture, quiet valleys and vibrant cities form a harmonious whole. “It is wonderfully rich and beautiful, and from the Alps to the very south, it has absolutely everything”, enthused Hermann Hesse, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, about his adopted home. Ticino’s cuisine is also hugely varied, ranging from polenta with roasted meat in the grottos to gourmet dishes. Over a glass of Merlot, you won’t be able to help agreeing with the locals. “It’s so beautiful here”, they say, “that the stars crowd close together at night so they can all find a place above this paradise.” Ticino – the region to fall in love with.
