Transformation of Geneva Main Station.

Geneva will soon be equipped with a station that will meet customer expectations: it's a major station project light and easy to be developedwill develop SBB RailCity asinto a thedeveloped as a hub of transportation in Geneva.

Particular attention will be devoted to the optimization of pedestrian flows, promoting allowing better access to public transportation within and around the railway station. The services offer own-labelwithin SBB RailCity will be significantly improved through generous and functional volumes. In addition to these public areas attractive commercial offers will be tailored to customer expectations.

The construction works began January 18, 2010 which. They will be held in two phases:

Phase I: January 18, 2010 - August 2011.

This phase affects the western part of the main station from is the central hall until the passage passing Montbrillant. It improves will improve platform access (increased capacity) and the entries entrance in the station building.

Phase II: January 2011 - End of 2013.

This second phase includes the maintenance of the historic facade and theas well as the demolition and reconstruction of the building interior. New areas and volumes will be created for the comfort of passengers and users of the railway station.

NB: Throughout the construction period, the bus stops TPG F / V / Z are moved to the street Rue des Gares, in front of the Post office of Monbrillant .
