How it works

  1. You can reserve your rental bike online or at any serviced station. Groups and schools of ten or more must reserve at least three days in advance, or ideally two to three weeks ahead of time.
  2. At the station, you'll first need to go to the ticket counter or luggage counter to obtain your rental contract. Bring your personal ID, your Half-Fare or GA travelcard or your credit card. Once you have the rental contract, you can pick up your bicycle at the luggage counter.
  3. Bikes rented at the station can in principal be returned to any station with a rental facility. Please enquire beforehand regarding the opening hours. Bikes from hotels, campsites or other rental facilities must be returned to the same location where the bike was picked up. Be sure to have the bike return confirmed on your rental contract.
  4. At www.rentabike.ch or www.sbb.ch/railaway, you will find an exciting variety of tour suggestions. In our brochure "Mit einem Mietvelo auf Tour" (not available in English), you can see what types of rental bikes are offered by the various rental stations.

Please note that e-bikes can only be rented to those 16 and above or in possession of a moped license from the age of 14.
