Family coach. Fun and games on the train.
The family coach – a playground on wheels.
Many of SBB’s InterCity double-decker trains today already offer our youngest passengers a variety of entertainment to keep the journey exciting – in our family coaches. In our Moon Coach, for example, children can play in the "Moon mission" space capsule, or enjoy shooting down the slide. And in the Dino Car they find a Dino Memory match game, a game table and another fantastic slide.
Coming soon – the new Ticki Park family coach.
In view of these immensely popular “playgrounds on wheels“, we are now rolling out our new Ticki Park family coach, which by the end of 2012 will be launched on all double-deck InterCity trains on long-distance routes. The centre part of the upper deck on this entertaining new family coach houses a playground area decorated in imaginative jungle motifs where your little ones are free to romp and let off steam as they please. Our existing Moon and Dino coaches will of course remain in service until all of the new coaches have been implemented.
The tables next to the play area on the upper deck of all these family coaches are fitted out with the exciting board games “Jungle Hunt” and “The Snake Game”. Any game pieces you may need can be obtained at the on-board SBB Restaurant and/or SBB Bistro, or from the SBB Minibar.
You’ll find more information on the new family coaches at the website www.tickipark.ch.
Where in the train is the family coach usually located?
The family coach playground can always be found upstairs in the driving trailer located at either the very front or rear of the train or unit. On the lower deck you’ll find plenty of space for pushchairs and bicycles.
Trains with family coaches are marked in the timetable with the symbol FA.
