Lost Property Service.
If you lose something on the train or at the station, we may find it – or some honest citizen may hand it in. You can report the loss via the Internet, by telephone, or at any ticket office. If the item is found, a reclaim fee will be charged.
Reporting a loss.
Reporting a loss via the Internet costs you nothing. However, if you report a loss to Rail Service (0900 300 300 CHF 1.19/min. from the Swiss landlines) or at a ticket counter, you will be charged CHF 15 for this service.
- Submit a new lost property report.
- Process an existing lost property report.
- Report that you have found an article you had lost.
Please complete the online form with all the information you have on the lost item: bag/container (plastic bag, rucksack etc.), an exact description of the article concerned, the precise contents of suitcases and bags etc., the date of the loss, and the train number and route.
If the loss occurred on a train to Germany, you should submit a lost property report to Deutsche Bahn as well.
Search request.
If you lose something important or valuable on a long-distance SBB train (with a train crew) or at a staffed station, we advise you to submit a search request (by telephone using your credit card, or at the counter subject to a fee of CHF 50). We will inform you of the result of the search carried out within four hours. If the item is found, a reclaim fee will be charged.
Reclaim fee.
If we find the item you have lost, you pay a reclaim fee as follows

Sale of unclaimed items.
Once the period required by law has expired, unclaimed items are forwarded to the fundsachenverkauf.ch GmbH company for sale by public auction. Information on the sale of lost property and upcoming auctions can be found at www.fundsachenverkauf.ch.
