The route between Iselle and Domodossola is closed throughout the period from Monday 13 August at 00.20 a.m. to Sunday 2 September 2012 at 11.59 p.m. During this period, we are offering you a replacement bus service.

Due to urgent building work in a tunnel on the Italian side of the Simplon route, there is a stoppage on the section between Iselle di Trasquera and Domodossola from 13 August to 2 September 2012. All trains between Iselle and Domodossola, and in the reverse direction, are being replaced by buses. We apologise for any inconvenience and wish you a pleasant journey nonetheless.

There will be a replacement service using buses, specially for commuters between Iselle and Domodossola and in the reverse direction. However, there is an increased travel time due to the bus journey.

We would thus recommend that you consider using the Gotthard route for holidays or trips to Ticino. Due to limited capacity and comfort, we advise you not to travel on the Simplon route if possible, especially on Saturdays.

When changing to the rail replacement bus, there will be a walk of about 10 minutes in Iselle. We regret that bikes and wheelchairs cannot be transported in the rail replacement buses.

In addition, the direct train services EC 37 and 42 between Geneva and Venice are disrupted between Milano Centrale and Venezia S. Lucia. If you are travelling to and from Brescia, Peschiera del Garda, Verona, Vicenza, Padova and Venice, please use the Eurostar services. Please note that this increases the travel time.

The replacement buses between Domodossola and Iselle are being integrated into the online timetable on a daily basis.
