Travelling with children.

Do you often take children on public transport? Then the Junior or Grandchild travelcard or our latest product, the Children’s Co-travelcard are ideal for you.

Junior travelcard

For your children.

With the Junior travelcard for 30 Swiss Francs, children from the age of six up to their 16th birthday can travel on public transport for a whole year, accompanied by a parent with a valid ticket.

Promotion.

Between 1 February 2017 and 31 January 2018, the transport companies will offer you a 50% discount on Junior travelcards and Children's Co-travelcards for one year. Instead of CHF 30, you will pay only CHF 15 per year and child. 

Buy a Junior travelcard.

You can obtain the Junior travelcard at any railway station. You will receive the Junior travelcard free for the third child. Simply show the other two Junior travelcards when you make the purchase. When purchasing a travelcard, please bring a passport or another form of official identification with you that shows the child’s date of birth.

Validity.

The Junior travelcard is valid anywhere within the Half-Fare travelcard area. Children may also use these to travel free or at a reduced price on many tram and bus routes of local transport services. You will find a map here, or you can pick one up at any railway station.

You can buy international tickets in combination with the Children’s Co-travelcard from any station.

Forgotten the Junior travelcard?

If you have left the Junior travelcard at your home, you can buy a temporary replacement card from the counter for a fee of CHF 5. Please present proof of identity.

Grandchild travelcard

The Grandchild travelcard was integrated into the new Children’s Co-travelcard on 11 December 2016.  For more information about the Children's Co-travelcard, click here.

Still valid for a year if purchased before 10 December 2016*: For your grandchildren.

With the Grandchild travelcard for CHF 30 per year, children from the age of 6 up to their 16th birthday travel throughout Switzerland accompanied by a grandparent holding a valid ticket.

The Grandchild travelcard is issued to grandparents. Grandparent couples are given a set of two Grandchild travelcards. No more than four Grandchild travelcards for at most four grandparent couples can be purchased per grandchild. The offer is also valid for same-sex grandparent couples. Single grandmothers or grandfathers are given a single Grandchild travelcard.

Buy a Grandchild travelcard.

You can still buy the Grandchild travelcard from any station up until 10 December 2016. From 12 December 2016, please purchase an Accompanying Child travelcard for your grandchildren instead of a Grandchild travelcard. When purchasing a travelcard, please bring a passport or another form of official identification with you that shows the child’s date of birth.

Children’s Co-travelcard

Available now: the new card for all other young travel companions.

With the Children’s Co-travelcard for 30 Swiss Francs per year, children from the age of six up to their 16th birthday can travel throughout Switzerland accompanied by someone holding a valid ticket.

Promotion.

Between 1 February 2017 and 31 January 2018, the transport companies will offer you a 50% discount on Children's Co-travelcards and on Junior travelcards for one year. Instead of CHF 30, you will pay only CHF 15 per year and child. 

The Children’s Co-travelcard is available for all travel companions (grandparents, godparents, neighbours, aunts and uncles, childminders, friends and relatives, etc.) over the age of 16.

Buy a Children's Co-travelcard.

You can get a Children's Co-travelcard from any station. The accompanying person and the child must be specified upon purchase. A separate travelcard is needed for every combination of child and accompanying person.

When purchasing a travelcard, please bring a passport or another form of official identification with you that shows  the child’s date of birth ist. There is no limit to the number of Children’s Co-travelcard purchases.

Validity.

Children’s Co-travelcard is valid anywhere where the Half-Fare travelcard is valid. Children can also travel on many the local transport tram and bus lines for free or at a reduced price. A maximum of four children with valid Children’s Co-travelcard travelcards can be accompanied by one person.

1-day travelpass for children.



When accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket, children aged 6 to 16 years can travel 2nd class for CHF 16 for the whole day. The 1-day travelpass for children costs CHF 32 for 1st class.
