Discounts for children.
Children always travel at low cost or even free of charge on public transport throughout Switzerland.
Children under 6 years of age.
Children under 6 years travel free of charge when accompanied by a person* holding a valid ticket. The accompanying person may take up to 8 children aged under 6 years with them free of charge. Half-price tickets must be purchased for each additional child, or any designated minimum fare must be paid.
*The accompanying person must be at least 12 years old and may then take up to four children with them free of charge. From 16 years of age, up to 8 children may travel with them.
Children aged between 6 and 16 years.
Children travel half-price on public transport from their 6th to their 16th birthday.
1-day travelpass for children.
When accompanied by an adult* with a GA travelcard or Half-Fare travelcard and a valid ticket, children aged 6 to 16 years can travel 2nd class for CHF 15 for the whole day. The 1-day travelpass for children costs CHF 30 for 1st class.
*The accompanying person must be at least 16 years old.
Junior travelcard.
With the Junior travelcard for CHF 30, children aged 6 to 16 years may travel on public transport all year when accompanied by a parent with a valid ticket.
Grandchild travelcard.
With the grandchild travelcard for CHF 30 per year, children aged 6 to 16 years may travel anywhere in Switzerland accompanied by a grandparent with a valid ticket.
