Want to travel through Switzerland for one day on public transport for just CHF 15? The Day Pass for Schools makes it possible. So school trips are good for your wallet too.
School classes and Y+S (Youth+Sports) groups with passengers under 25 years old can now benefit from the affordable Day Pass for Schools all year round. Children, young people and accompanying adults can travel for one day in 2nd class for as little as CHF 15 – wherever the GA Travelcard is valid.
The Day Pass for Schools for CHF 15 per person
is valid for groups of 10 or more people for travel together as part of school trips or Youth+Sports events.
is valid for the following passengers from age 6 to under 25 (up to 24.99 years old):
children aged at least 6 from public or private nurseries.
pupils from the 1st to 9th year at public and private schools.
pupils from public or private secondary schools and students in an apprenticeship.
pupils from or schools for the disabled, deaf, blind and visually impaired.
students from higher education institutes and universities.
young people from disabled youth institutes, orphanages and children’s homes.
people taking part in Youth+Sports events, Youth+Sports camps and other official camps and events (training camps, music camps etc.).
costs CHF 15 also for accompanying adults aged 25 or over. A maximum of two accompanying adults aged 25 or over are permitted for each eight young people (aged 6–24.99).
also applies to dogs. They may travel with you for 15 francs. They also count towards the minimum number of 10 participants.
is only available for 2nd class; cannot be purchased in conjunction with a class upgrade.
is valid for travel from Monday to Sunday, from midnight until 5am the following day.
is valid in the GA Travelcard area of validity. For journeys outside the GA Travelcard area of validity, you must buy add-on tickets at the group rate.
Further provisions.
Group journeys can be booked up to two days before departure (depending on the connection chosen).
Making a group reservation is obligatory. Reservations are made automatically when you buy the Day Pass for Schools at a counter. The general provisions regarding seat reservations for groups also apply.
People holding a GA Travelcard, Point-to-Point Travelcard, Modular Travelcard or Regional Travelcard count towards the minimum number of participants provided the area of validity for their travelcard(s) covers the route of the group journey in full.
Children with a Junior Travelcard or Children's Co-Travelcard, passengers with a Day Pass (including Municipal Day Passes and Saver Day Passes), Leisure Travelcard or seven25 Travelcard and people with a Disabled Passenger’s ID Card are not included.

For group journeys under the price threshold of the Day Pass for Schools (CHF 15 per person), please buy standard group tickets or group tickets from the regional fare networks.
The Day Pass for Schools is not valid for children and young people travelling together unofficially, e.g. for private city trips, skiing trips etc.
The Day Pass for Schools is only available at staffed public transport points of sale.
