Our digital services – there for you today and tomorrow.
Today, we already offer you a variety of online and mobile digital services. And, of course, the future is digital too. Let us introduce you to some of our digital services.
Passenger mobility needs are changing, new service providers are surging onto the market, and digitalisation and automation are opening up new opportunities. Across the whole of the mobility chain, we are combining the strength of the railway and the potential of new technologies in our digital services, while always handling your customer data with the utmost confidentiality.
Digital services – today and tomorrow.
Find out how the SBB virtual assistant simplifies your travel planning, how the digital assistant answers your questions about your GA Travelcard or Half Fare Travelcard round the clock, or how you can book a personal consultation online at any time in just a few clicks.
In the SBB Community, you can join in the conversation with other public transport users or get answers to your own questions; while EasyRide’s automatic journey recognition can even take care of the tickets for you. Our focus: simple and personal. And there are still many new services in store for the future…
"Hey Google, ask SBB: when is the next train from Bern to Lucerne?" Timetable information, ticket prices, information on train occupancy rates and any potential delays – you can now get all this information with voice control.
At SBB.ch, a digital assistant has already begun providing a quick and easy way to get answers to your questions about the GA Travelcard and Half Fare Travelcard, by means of chat conversations which are powered by artificial intelligence.
During the Digital Days customer advisors will answer your questions and give you practical tips on how to use the SBB.ch website. For the first time, we will offer virtual consultations on a trial basis – just as we like to say "Get your ticket easily wherever you are".
The SBB Community is your digital point of contact for your questions about rail and all the things that go with it. Here you can chat with other passengers, get their help with your problems or share your own tips on all things related to SBB trains, stations and services.
Would you like to travel by public transport without having to worry about tickets – and just get on and go? Without even having to decide where you are going beforehand? Thanks to EasyRide you can now do this with ease: simply check in with a swipe before your journey and check out after-wards with another swipe. EasyRide calculates the best price for you at the end of the day.

Our digital services: in development for you.
Technological possibilities are changing and as a result so are your needs as public transport users. And we are right there with our customers. We are responsive to the preferences of our customers and we are always looking out for further ways to implement new digital services. Our goal is to make your access to public transport as simple as possible.
Currently, the focus of our further development projects is on voice-controlled applications among other things: as well as timetable enquiries and voice-controlled use of ticket machines, SBB Contact Center phone enquiries could also be dealt with automatically in the future. Important: as a customer you will always be able to see if your enquiry is answered by a digital assistant rather than a person.
In terms of our location-based services, we are concentrating on improving our customer information services. In addition, our public transport service offer will be supplemented with meaningful and practical services, such as car sharing or parking at the station. Alongside that, we are also working on the further development of our ticket machines. A first prototype – the tablet ticket machine – was presented at Digital Days 2019 and was met by a positive response by the public.
We will continue to focus our sales channels on personal consultation, as well as on digital channels. We are continually investing in the modernisation of our Travel Centres. In addition to digital registration, it will always remain possible to travel anonymously without having to submit any contact information in the future.
Ensuring that customers trust us with their data is a top priority for us. We use customer data only for marketing purposes or to improve our services and we guarantee the security of customer data at all time. We do not sell any customer data. Moreover, you can limit or opt out from the use of your non-anonymised personal data for marketing purposes at any time (Opt-Out) We explicitly ask you for your consent for services that require the collection of your personal data.
We are always offering you more digital services, and improving our existing ones. Using them generates data. But what actually happens to it? Find out more about our customer promise and our commitment to handling your data confidentially.
