The SBB Restaurant is taking part in Swisstainable, Switzerland Tourism’s sustainability programme for World Vegetarian Day. We are setting an example for sustainable catering that is good for the climate and environment.

1 October 2022 is official World Vegetarian Day and we are celebrating Swisstainable Veggie Day for the first time in Switzerland. Numerous restaurants and hotels will be offering diverse and creative vegetarian dishes on this day or over a longer time period. We are proud to be participating in Veggie Day 2022 too.

From 1 to 14 October 2022, we are offering you a 20% discount on all the vegetarian main dishes listed below.

  1. Autumn pumpkin ravioli in a coconut-curry sauce.

    The offer includes:

    • Late summer marks the start of pumpkin season. Time for our delicious pumpkin ravioli with a coconut-curry sauce.

    • This dish generates 116g CO2 eq. emissions. That is 66% less CO2 than an average dish.

  2. Creamy risotto with chanterelle mushrooms.

    The offer includes:

    • The chanterelle mushroom season runs from June to the end of October. This regional mushroom is especially tasty in combination with our creamy risotto.

    • The dish generates 454g CO2 eq. emissions That is 37% less CO2 than an average dish.

  3. Bulgur salad with cranberries and mint.

    The offer includes:

    • Delicious, light and healthy. A refreshing sweet and salty salad creation.

    • This dish generates 206g CO2 eq. emissions. That is 41% less CO2 than an average dish.

  4. Red Thai curry (plant-based).

    The offer includes:

    • 100% plant-based pleasure. Juicy texture with a real bite made from 100% plant-based ingredients.

    • This dish generates 412g CO2 eq. emissions. That is 54% less CO2 than an average dish.
