Forgotten your password or want to change it? Simply follow the steps below to reset your password.

I have forgotten my password. What can I do?

Here’s how it works:

  1. Click on the “Forgotten your password?” link when logging in or click directly on the link here.
  2. Enter your registered e-mail address and click on “Request password change”.
  3. We will send a five-digit security code to your registered e-mail address. If you cannot find an e-mail in your inbox, please check your spam or junk folders.
  4. Enter the security code you received and a new password of your choice and then click on “Save new password”. 
  5. Warning: if you change your password, you will have to sign in again for all the online services and apps that work using the SwissPass login. You will have to reactivate the “Stay signed in” function if you want to use it.

I have not received an e-mail to activate or change the password on my account. What should I do?

Here’s how it works:

  1. If you cannot find an e-mail in your inbox, please check your spam or junk folders. 
  2. If you still can’t find an e-mail from us, please get in touch via the contact form.

How do I choose a secure password for my customer account?

Here’s how it works:

  1. Your password must meet the following criteria:
    • At least 12 characters (max. 50)
    • At least one capital letter or special character (not accepted: space, single/double quote and caret)
    • At least one lower case letter
    • At least one number
    • Maximum three identical characters in a row
  2. You can find additional information on how to choose a secure password at the Password Check website provided by the Data Protection Officer of the Canton of Zurich.

How can I change my password?

Here’s how it works:

  1. Enter your registered e-mail address and click on “Request password change”.

  4. Alternatively, click on your initials in your customer account, select "Login details" and "Change password".
