Over the coming years, SBB.ch is to be renewed and enhanced with new functionalities. As a first step, the SBB.ch homepage will be given a new design and new functions. With the beta version, we would like to test the most important innovations before we actually roll out the new homepage, making it visible to everyone. During this beta phase, nothing will be changed on the current SBB.ch website for the moment; the beta version of the homepage can only be accessed via a separate URL.

A beta version is an early, not yet fully developed version of a new website; a preview, so to speak. This means that the page is already functional and usable, but does not yet correspond to the final version and also does not yet contain all content. However, the beta version does give you an early insight into the most important innovations which will be soon replacing the current SBB.ch website.

It is therefore to be expected that not all functions will work perfectly in the beta version, and that it will not be entirely accessible for all users.

The beta version cannot be found using search engines such as Google. It can only be accessed directly via a URL. There is a separate URL for each language (German, French, Italian and English).

With this preview, we would like to test the most important changes and get some initial feedback before going live. The feedback will then be incorporated into the continued process of development and the live launch.

The beta version only includes the new homepage (incl. header and footer) and the timetable, with various content teasers and the new search function.

As soon as you enter the purchase process via the timetable, or click on a link on the homepage or search results page, you will be taken back to the current (existing) pages. It is easiest to see whether this is the case by checking the URL (it won’t include “beta”).

We welcome any feedback you might have about the new website. Please enter it in the feedback form.

All feedback is collected by SBB, aggregated anonymously, evaluated and finally incorporated into the optimisations and further steps in the development of the website.

New menu.

You will find the navigation to the overview of content top left in the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines).

Search.

Using the search box right at the top of the webpage, you can easily search for content using keywords.

Please note: You can find all the content at SBB.ch via the menu and the search function. If you follow one of the links, you will leave beta.sbb.ch and arrive at the current webpages of SBB.ch.

Timetable queries.

• You can query several connections at the same time in different browser windows. Your session will also not be interrupted by a timeout.
• Your current location can be used as a point of departure or arrival.
• Recently used stops/addresses appear as suggestions.
• Stops/addresses can be saved as favourites.

Timetable results.

• Links to individual timetable results can be copied and shared.
• To prepare for the journey, the individual route sections and walking routes are shown on a map.

No, the timetable data is the same. However, as this is not yet a fully developed version, certain information may be missing.

Protecting your personal data and privacy is a major concern for us as public transport companies. We guarantee that your personal data will be processed in accordance with the applicable provisions of data protection law. You can find all the details on this in the SBB privacy policy.

Current location.

In order to be able to use “Current location” for a timetable query on beta.sbb.ch, your browser will prompt you to allow the website to access your GPS location. If you decline this request, you will not be able to use this function. All other functions in the timetable will still be available.

Cookies. 

In order for the system to remember your last timetable entries and your favourites so that you can make your timetable enquiries even faster, you must at least allow the functional cookies on this website.
