Can I also purchase RailAway offers via the SBB Mobile app?

No. RailAway offers are not available via the SBB Mobile app.

Are the Junior Travelcard and the Children’s Co-Travelcard also valid for combined offers?

Yes, the Junior Travelcard and the Children’s Co-Travelcard are also valid. Select the relevant discount card under ‘Discount cards’ when purchasing online.

Can I also purchase just the leisure activity (not the train journey)?

Yes. Choose the option ‘Individual journey not including public transport’ when ordering. In this case, you can purchase just the additional service for the ordinary price (without a discount).

Can I have a RailAway offer refunded if I do not use it?

What benefits can schools enjoy with RailAway?

Schools (groups of 10 or more) enjoy the following advantages: Day Pass for Schools for CHF 15 per person (aged 6-25) for a return journey within the GA area of validity. Up to 20% reduction on the school rate for the leisure activity (e.g. admission to the zoo, mountain railway/lift, etc.). Comprehensive service (SMS notification, seat reservations, etc.).

Who can benefit from RailAway offers for schools?

Public and private schools, as well as youth groups, for example: School children from the 1st to 9th year at public or private middle schools. Schools for the deaf, blind and visually impaired. Students from higher education institutes and universities. Groups of young people from disabled youth institutes, orphanages and children’s homes. Participants of ‘Youth + Sports’ events. Youth groups such as scouts, Blauring or similar The following conditions must be met: At least 10 passengers aged under 25. Each school group must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or over. This accompanying person also counts as a participant. For every 8 children/young people, there may be a maximum of two accompanying persons older than 16 years old.

No, not yet. School offers can be booked either by calling the SBB Contact Center on 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min.) or at a staffed public transport point of sale.

Who makes the reservation for the leisure activity?

When booking a RailAway offer for schools, our employees take care of the reservation for the leisure activity. You don’t have to take any action.

Offer.

A RailAway leisure travel offer consists of a public transport ticket and a leisure activity, such as admission or a day pass for skiing. In many cases, you benefit from reductions on the additional product when you travel there with public transport. Reduced leisure travel offers are also known as RailAway combined offers.

You can get RailAway offers for individual travellers (individuals, couples, families, small groups up to 9 people) as well as for schools (from 10 or more people).

Individual travellers.

You can buy leisure travel offers online, by phone from the SBB Contact Center 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min) or at any staffed public transport point of sale.
Snow’n’Rail offers are available exclusively online.

If you already hold a ticket for public transport, you can also purchase the discounted leisure travel offer on its own. To find out which sales channels sell the leisure travel offer you have chosen, check each specific offer.

Yes, this is possible. What’s important is that your ticket covers the whole route for your chosen leisure travel offer. When you purchase online, please choose ‘Other individual ticket’ under ‘Discount cards’. Please note that our partners providing the additional product may check the details you have given.

Yes. When purchasing online, look for the percentage symbol at ‘Options for outward journey’ or ‘Options for return journey’. Please note that supersaver tickets are only valid for the connection selected. If the Saver Day Pass is cheaper than the ordinary fare, it is presented automatically.

Snow’n’Rail.

Yes. Please note that supersaver tickets are only valid for the connections selected.

If you want to combine the offer with a Saver Day Pass, please proceed as follows: select ‘Other own ticket’ under ‘Discount cards’ when purchasing the Snow’n’Rail offer online. Please note that you must buy the Saver Day Pass separately on SBB.ch or via the SBB Mobile app.

Leisure offers.

In some cases, but not in others. This is possible for products from some leisure activity providers – however, only after the payment process is completed. On the payment confirmation page, you will then have the option of loading the offer onto your SwissPass card. You can also do this retrospectively via the link you receive in your confirmation e-mail.

Snow’n’Rail.

In some cases, but not in others. For some mountain railways, you can load the activity onto your SwissPass directly during the booking purchase. Alternatively, you will get a voucher which can be exchanged for a mountain railway ticket when you arrive.

Schools.

Schools (groups of 10 or more) enjoy the following advantages:

Day Pass for Schools for CHF 15 per person (aged 6-25) for a return journey within the GA area of validity.
Up to 20% reduction on the school rate for the leisure activity (e.g. admission to the zoo, mountain railway/lift, etc.).

You can find out whether you can load your chosen 1, 2 or 6-day ski pass onto your SwissPass during the online purchase process for the Snow’n’Rail offer.

If it is possible, you can load the ski pass onto your SwissPass card during the booking process.

RailAway Ticket

Hi, I was wondering for RailAway offer to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne, does the purchase of standard ticket covers the visits to Media World and Hans Erni Museum?
The reason I’m asking is because the standard ticket (not day pass) on the main website (verkehrshaus.ch) covers the admission of Swiss Museum of Transport plus Media World and Hans Erni Museum. It is not clear on SBB website whether the other two attractions are covered as part of the standard ticket offered under RailAway. However, the 20% discount offered by RailAway seemed to be applied on the standard ticket price (20% off CHF35 -> CHF28) which made me think that the other two attractions will be covered. Appreciate if anyone can help to clarify on this. Thanks!

Question on railaway tickets

Hello,I am planning on booking the combined railaway offer to go to Bernina Glacier area starting from Tirano by Raetian trains. So I wonder if the railaway point to point ticket will be valid as:1) A "day pass" for stops in between Tirano and my destination, in this case Bernina Diavolezza. So I can also visit other nice spots on this route. 2) A ticket for the famous Bernina Express train w/o Seat reservation, so I can decide if I want to use the panoramic service or the regular regional service and book the seat reservation myself on desired train and direction. thanks

But you are free to choose the time you want to travel and you can also leave the train and continue your trip later. If you travel with the Bernina Express (panoramic train) the seat reservation is mandatory and can be done hereLink opens in new window.. If you purchase the RailAway Offer on our webiste (train ticket + Lindt home of chocolate Museum ticket) you do not need to book a time slot. The only thing to keep in mind is the difference between regular point to point tickets (valid all day for the choosen journey) and saver or supersaver tickets (valid only on the specific train at the specific time chosen).
