The Day Pass for Schools is available at staffed public transport points of or via the order form for school trips (order deadline: at least five days in advance). It is best that the person leading the school trip books the required Day Passes for Schools (or other group tickets), including the seat reservations. To ensure we can calculate the price correctly, we need to know the ages of the pupils you are travelling with and how many hold a GA Travelcard, Half Fare Travelcard, Regional Travelcard, Point-to-Point Travelcard or Modular Travelcard for the entire route being travelled.
The Day Pass for Schools also costs CHF 15 for accompanying adults aged 25 or over. A maximum of two accompanying adults aged 25 or over are permitted for each eight young people (aged 6–24.99).
For group journeys under the price threshold of the Day Pass for Schools (CHF 15 per person), please buy standard group tickets or group tickets from the regional fare networks.
You can change the number of passengers up until 30 minutes before the start of the journey free of charge at a staffed public transport point of sale.
If you make a change later, we will charge an excess of CHF 10 for each refund request made if the group becomes smaller.
If a change is made, you should always ask train staff to confirm how many passengers actually make the journey in each direction. Do the same if you use additional services from third parties at your destination.
If necessary, apply for a refund after your journey.
School trips must be booked in advance. When you make the purchase at a staffed public transport point of sale, we ask you to register the journey at the latest two working days before your departure. (For example, if you are travelling on a Thursday, the request must be submitted by Monday evening at the latest).
The Day Pass for Schools is only valid for the selected travel date, for journeys from Monday to Sunday from midnight to 5am the following day.
