Old town and Diocletian’s Palace.
In 300 AD, the Romans built a palace for Emperor Diocletian to retire to and to this day it forms the heart of Split’s historic centre. It is a well-preserved historic building which takes up almost half of the old town. Wander through the UNESCO world heritage site along colonnaded passageways and past numerous impressive Roman and Venetian buildings. And then suddenly you’ll find yourself among little shops and restaurants or on the coastal promenade.
Marjan hill.
The Marjan hill overlooking the Bay of Split is just a short walk from the city centre. Explore this extensive peninsular park with its pines on foot, by bike or even on roller blades. Enjoy the fresh air and the wonderful view of the harbour and the old town.
