This little known ascent is one of the most beautiful and challenging in Valais.

With a total altitude gain of almost 1,800 metres, the Col du Sanetsch route is undoubtedly the most challenging ascent in Valais. Setting out from the valley, you’ll pass vineyards, the town of Savièse and the larch and spruce forests of Conthey before coming to alpine meadows and eventually reaching the magnificent Tsanfleuron glacier. The route through the pass is full of surprises at every turn – rock faces, waterfalls, snow-covered peaks and magnificent scenery.
