Between 1817 and 1820, Bavarian botanist, Carl von Martius, head out to discover Brazil, thus becoming the first naturalist to describe the important plant diversity of the Amazon forest.
The exhibition retraces the legendary journey of this explorer and highlights his passion for the most emblematic family of the tropical plants: the palm trees. The sheets displayed belong to the rich CJBG's Library collection.
