• Travel on the “Habersack”.
  • Steam journey on the Hauenstein route.
  • Former replacement steam locomotive in the event of overhead line faults.

The SBB has operated electric trains on the Hauenstein route since 1953.

Type Eb 3/5 “Habersack” steam locomotives were deployed when there was an overhead line fault. On the journey on 27 April 2019, the Eb 3/4 5819 proves what it is made of: the steam train runs from Olten to Basel via Läufelfingen, Liestal and Pratteln. From there, it returns to Olten via Stein-Säckingen and Brugg.

The trip will definitely take place.
