The smallest town in Switzerland: With just 60 inhabitants, Werdenberg’s well-maintained medieval houses are enchanting.

Castle Werdenberg in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley towers above Werdenberg hamlet, one of Europe’s only remaining medieval settlements with urban character. The architectural ensemble dating back to the 13th century includes two museums explaining the 800-year history of the Castle’s sovereignty and its subjects. Situated within the ambience of the historical castle, the Bistro invites you in to relax.
