A hike with an imposing mountainous backdrop and mystical waters.
The hike starts at the Simmen Falls and leads straight uphill to the Barbara Bridge. The ice-cold water sprays the bridge and cools you pleasantly. Walk uphill through the woods on a winding path. You can see how the Simme has cut deep fissures in the rocks. Arriving at Alp Rezliberg, you are at the source of the Simme which gives the valley its name. The water gushes out of seven springs from slits in a huge limestone wall, forming the shape of a 30-metre-wide fan. The source is fed by the trickling meltwater of the glacier which is located between Wildstrubel and Rohrbachstein.
