The private foundation preserves architectural and industrial history – from manufacturing to knowledge culture – with its architectural monuments: the Kunstmuseum Appenzell, built by Gigon & Guyer, and the Kunsthalle Ziegelhütte, rebuilt by Robert Bamert.
The Heinrich Gebert Cultural Foundation’s art collection comprises more than 1,000 paintings, drawings, watercolours and gouaches by Carl August Liner and Carl Walter Liner. In addition, it has over 200 works by classical modern and contemporary artists. The collection mainly features painting and sculpture.
