The Fondation Beyeler in Riehen near Basel is internationally renowned for the quality of its exhibitions, and is home to an excellent collection of works from classic modern and contemporary art.

This includes masterpieces from Monet, Picasso, Klee, Matisse, Rothko, Giacometti, Warhol, Richter and many others. The museum building by top architect Renzo Piano is located in an idyllic park with a superb view of the countryside. The museum shows temporary exhibitions from its collection and from the most famous international museums and private collections. The museum celebrates its 20th year in 2017; more than 6 million art enthusiasts have visited the Fondation Beyeler since it opened in 1997.
