The Fondation Beyeler in Riehen near Basel is internationally renowned for the quality of its exhibitions, and is home to an excellent collection of works from classic modern and contemporary art.
This includes masterpieces from Monet, Picasso, Klee, Matisse, Rothko, Giacometti, Warhol, Richter and many others. The museum building by architect Renzo Piano is located in an idyllic park with a superb view of the countryside. The museum holds three to four temporary exhibitions each year with loans from renowned international museums and private collections as well as new presentations of its own collection. The Fondation Beyeler has established itself as the most-visited art museum in Switzerland.
