Olten: all passengers are requested to leave the train! Stations of a city
Olten is known to everybody in Switzerland. Tens of thousands of railway passengers travel through the transport intersection and local train station on their journeys from east to west or from north to south every day. Some get off the train here, but most continue on. Those who do get off change trains and leave again soon afterwards.
The new permanent exhibition of the Historical Museum now provides a reason to stop and discover the eventful and fascinating history of the city on the intersection of many routes. Interactive points as well as audio and video records ensure that you have a multi-sensory experience. A «history workshop» will entice you to take a look at the work that goes on behind the scenes.
Archaeological Museum of the Canton of Solothurn.
What remains. Stories unearthed
We all leave traces. It has always been like that. Many things disappear. Some stay. Hidden in the ground for hundreds or thousands of years. Here too, in the canton of Solothurn.
The archeological museum presents the wide range of remnants dating back over a period of 80,000 years, and brings the people from the past back to life.
