The famous Basel Public Art Collection of the Kunstmuseum Basel now includes around 4,000 paintings, sculptures and videos as well as about 300,000 works on paper from seven centuries.
The museum consists of three parts. In addition to the Kunstmuseum Basel/Gegenwart and the Hauptbau (main building), the Neubau (new building) that opened in 2016 stands out.
