Increased SBB train services are operating as normal.
You will find all information here on the outward and return journeys to reach the Swiss stages of the Tour de France on 9 and 10 July 2022.
The use of public transport is recommended.
Due to the numbers of passengers expected, the closure of many roads, and to avoid traffic jams and parking problems, public transport is recommended to reach Lausanne, Aigle and other sites on the 2022 Tour de France route.
SBB is increasing the number of seats on lines serving Lausanne and Aigle, to transport visitors to the heart of the Tour de France.
The lines of many regional and urban public transport companies are affected by the passage of the Tour de France. It is therefore recommended that you find information about the routes to take ahead of your journey, particularly via the online timetable, which will be adapted from the beginning of July.
Advice for travellers.
High numbers of passengers are expected on the lines serving Lausanne on the afternoon of Saturday 9 July, and for Aigle on the morning of Sunday 10 July, as well as on the return trains once the peloton has passed through.
Numerous activities and a wide range of catering options are available in the stage city/town in the hours preceding and following the passage of the caravan and the peloton. It is recommended that you enjoy the atmosphere on-site before and after the passage of the Tour de France to avoid the high occupancy on trains at peak times.
Access to the stations will be affected by the Tour de France route, on foot as well as on public transport. It is therefore recommended that you allow sufficient time to arrive at and leave the station. Passengers are requested to comply with the instructions of SBB staff at the stations.
Bike transportation.
Due to the numbers of passengers on the trains during the Tour de France, transporting bicycles is strongly discouraged, especially on the IR 90 on July 10 during the daytime.
Standard transport tickets are valid on all trains serving the stations located close to the Tour de France route. Make your life simpler by using the SBB Mobile app to purchase your outward and return tickets.
You can also buy your transport ticket online, at ticket machines, at ticket counters in the station, or from the SBB Contact Center on 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min.). In this case, it is best to purchase a ticket that is valid for both your outward and return journeys in order to avoid a long wait at the ticket machines when you return.
For journeys within the Mobilis fare network, it is recommended that you purchase the Mobilis 1-day travelpass or benefit from the weekend travelcard special offer. This is a 2nd class travelcard that is valid for one month for all zones at weekends and on public holidays, at a single price of CHF 39, or CHF 19 for holders of a Mobilis travelcard. It is on sale up to 15 July 2022.
