Every year, we present you with ten different tourist destinations in Switzerland that are worth a visit.
Belalp – closer to the sky.
Thanks to the 8-seater gondola lift from Blatten to Chiematte on the Belalp, you can have even more fun on the slopes – with no crowds or long queues. You reach the Belalp, at an altitude of more than 2,000 m, in just 1 hour and 40 minutes from Bern.
You can look forward to a range of winter sports at all levels of difficulty, over an area of 87.4 km. Right next to the gondola railway is “Hexenland”, the perfect place for our small guests to start out. There are plenty of exciting things to discover: modern conveyer belts, a spooky witch’s broomstick tubing track, a photo point in the snowy countryside with a giant broom, and much more. Hexenland can be used free of charge. Totally bewitched and a lot of fun is the “Zauberring” (magic ring), a simple descent from Schönbiel back down to Chiematte. To make the descent an entertaining experience for the little ones, the Belalp witch works her magic here and the slope is made to look enchanted. All ages will enjoy the exciting descent.
The ski area extends from Hohstock at an altitude of 3,118 m to Blatten at 1,322 m. Besides the superbly prepared slopes, the 150 metre long Hohstock ski tunnel also offers fantastic descents. It is the entrance to the white paradise for freeriders and deep-snow skiers and also provides unforgettable fun on the prepared slopes. The 9.9 km long Belalp-Blatten toboggan run guarantees a thrilling experience either by day or night. Visit the Belalp with a view of the Great Aletsch Glacier and 14 Valais mountains of over 4,000 m.
