General terms of business for use of the P+Rail app, mobile tickets and P+Rail facilities ("P+Rail General Terms of business").
These P+Rail General Terms of Business apply to use of the SBB app for P+Rail facilities (abbreviated form: “P+Rail app”) and to the purchase of MobileTickets in order to use P+Rail facilities. They also contain the terms and conditions regarding the on-site use of P+Rail facilities.
You can pay for a parking space by the hour or by the day via the “P+Rail app”. You can purchase an annual or, monthly pass at the ticket counter or, in some instances, via Rail Services.
By making a firm booking via the “P+Rail app”, you are accepting the following terms and conditions.
Using P+Rail services. Additional terms and conditions may apply to individual SBB services and products (e.g. when using a P+Rail facility, the terms and conditions of use displayed in that particular location apply). In the event of any contradiction, the special terms and conditions take precedence.
Changes to the P+Rail General Terms of Business. SBB reserves the right to fully or partly change, supplement or delete the contents of the “P+Rail app” and these P+Rail General Terms of Business at any time as it sees fit. The same right applies to improvements and/or changes to the information and products and services described. When any changes are made to the P+Rail General Terms of Business, you will be asked to read and accept the new General Terms of Business.
The MobileTicket for P+Rail facilities grants you the right to park a duly licensed light motor vehicle (maximum total weight 3500 kg) in roadworthy condition for the period of validity of the MobileTicket at the car park facility in question, provided that a free marked space is available. You are not entitled to a refund if no space is available. No claims for damages or loss of profit due to a fully occupied P+Rail facility will be accepted.
People with a disability may display their cantonal authority’s parking pass for disabled people and are thus exempt from paying the parking fee.
Non-authorised use All forms of use other than the parking of light motor vehicles within marked bays are prohibited, including, in particular:
Parking caravans or motorhomes, vehicles with trailers, bicycles or motor-assisted bicycles
Cleaning and repairing vehicles
Topping up or draining off cooling water, fuel or oil
Storing flammable items and materials, or waste and rubbish
Posting or distributing advertising materials (flyers, business cards etc.) without written permission from SBB
Exclusion of liability Use of the P+Rail facility is at the user’s own risk. This also particularly applies in wintery conditions. Any liability on the part of SBB is excluded to the extent permissible by law.
Infringement of the terms and conditions of use If the vehicle is parked at the P+Rail facility for longer than the parking session paid for or if the parking fee is not paid in advance, a parking fee of CHF 40 per day or part thereof shall be payable. In the event of an infringement of the car park regulations or unauthorised use, a penalty of CHF 40 shall be payable. The right to assert a claim for higher compensation for damages is reserved. SBB reserves the right to have a vehicle towed away at the user’s expense if:
a leaking tank, carburettor, conduit or container or any other defect poses a risk for the operation or cleanliness of the car park,
the vehicle is illegal or is impounded by the police,
a vehicle is parked in a way that contravenes the above terms and conditions of use.
Instructions issued by SBB staff and authorised SBB representatives must be complied with.
Exchanges and refunds. As a general rule, MobileTickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. The following exceptions apply:
Customer illness with suitable evidence. A medical certificate must be provided at SBB’s request
Duplicate E-tickets purchased (travel date, location and passenger – surname, first name and car registration number – are identical)
E-tickets with incorrect car registration numbers (if an obvious error has been made)
If any of these circumstances apply, please send the MobileTicket with a written application (PDF) to the SBB Contact Center or take it to a manned SBB station to request a refund. You can also fill in this form on screen and send it as an e-mail attachment.
Technical requirements. You are personally responsible for ensuring that your mobile phone can support the MobileTicket system and for the technical settings. Technical support services are provided by the relevant provider only.
Protecting your privacy is important to SBB. SBB ensures that it complies with the statutory data protection regulations set out by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.
Non-disclosure of information. When purchasing the services and products offered via the “P+Rail app” online, you will have to provide your data. Your personal data (e.g. your coordinates or information about your car) will not be sold or passed on to third parties outside SBB, with the exception of your personal data which needs to be passed on to the third-party suppliers of services (e.g. car services) offered via the “P+Rail app” in order to process the contract. The third-party suppliers are obliged to guarantee the security of your data and to comply with data protection regulations.
Market research. To continually improve the quality of its services, SBB reserves the right to ask the users of the “P+Rail app” to participate in electronic surveys. If you do not wish to participate in these surveys, you can opt out by sending an e-mail to the following address: email@example.com
Storing and safeguarding your data. SBB will take appropriate measures and use the necessary security technology to protect your data. It will be stored only for as long as is necessary for its purpose. However, as a general rule, it will be deleted following deletion of the “P+Rail app” on your mobile phone.

All of the contents of the “P+Rail app” (text, graphics, images etc.) are protected by copyright and, in the absence of any regulation to the contrary, belong wholly and exclusively to SBB. This also particularly applies to the wordmarks, figurative marks and/or sound trademarks and logos which feature in the “P+Rail app”. These websites may also contain information on the intellectual property and usage rights of third parties, which should also be observed.
The information and services contained in the “P+Rail app” are provided by SBB exclusively for private use and for informational purposes.
Reproduction (in full or in part), communication (electronic or through other means), modification, linking or use of the information and services of all types contained in the “P+Rail app” for public or commercial purposes is only permitted with the prior written agreement of SBB.
Unless otherwise agreed, use of the “P+Rail app” and the information and offers contained in it is at the user’s own risk and responsibility. Any liability on the part of SBB is excluded to the extent permissible by law.
Liability is also excluded for lost profit, any kind of defect in the “P+Rail app” (e.g. interruptions to the service, malfunctions, viruses, harmful components, terrorist acts), misuse by third parties (e.g. viewing or copying data) or the loss of programs or other data from your information systems.
If there are links on the “P+Rail app” to third-party websites, SBB cannot accept any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or legality of the content on these websites or their links to other websites, or for any offers, products or services on these websites. These websites are no longer within SBB’s sphere of influence, even if these websites display the SBB logo or another protected designation. The use of linked websites is therefore at the user’s own responsibility.
The courts in Bern, where SBB has its registered office, shall have sole jurisdiction for any disputes arising in relation to the operation or use of the “P+Rail app” between you as the user of the “P+Rail app” and SBB. Swiss law shall be exclusively applicable.
