You’d like to treat yourself to a day in 1st class, but you already have a Half Fare Travelcard with a Day Pass (Day Pass for the Half Fare Travelcard, Saver Day Pass, Municipal Saver Day Pass, Special Day Pass) or a 2nd class GA Travelcard? All you have to do is buy a 1-day Class Upgrade for CHF 50. And then you’ll be travelling first class.
For an additional premium of just CHF 50, you can upgrade to 1st class for a whole day, enjoying more legroom and more comfort.
The 1-day Class Upgrade is also available as ticket that requires validation for six days of your choosing. This Multiple Day Class Upgrade is non-personal and can therefore be used by multiple people to upgrade to 1st class. To do this, you validate one field per person per day. Each of these people must have their own GA Travelcard or Half Fare Travelcard as well as a 2nd class Day Pass. You can buy the Multiple Day Class Upgrade for CHF 300 at staffed public transport points of sale.
The Multiple Day Class Upgrade ticket that requires validation is non-personal and is therefore well-suited to being bought as a gift.
For children aged at least 6 and under 16, we recommend the 1st class Day Pass for Children. It’s cheaper.
For the 1-day Class Upgrade, you require a basic ticket such as a 2nd class Day Pass for the Half Fare Travelcard for CHF 78.
If you are planning a little further ahead, you could also use your 1-day Class Upgrade in combination with a Saver Day Pass. This will only work if you also have a Half Fare Travelcard, however.
