You’d like to treat yourself to a day in 1st class, but you already have a Half Fare Travelcard with a Day Pass (Day Pass for the Half Fare Travelcard, Saver Day Pass, Municipal Saver Day Pass, Special Day Pass) or a 2nd class GA Travelcard? All you have to do is buy a 1-day Class Upgrade for CHF 50. And then you’ll be travelling first class.
A personal 1-day Class Upgrade for a specific date can be purchased conveniently online at SBB.ch or in the SBB Mobile / Preview apps. A non-personal 1-day Class Upgrade which will be valid for one year can be obtained from a ticket machine or from a staffed public transport point of sale.
To spend a day upgraded into 1st class, you will need to already have one of the following 2nd class tickets/travelcard combinations: Half Fare Travelcard and Day Pass for the Half Fare Travelcard, Half Fare Travelcard and Saver Day Pass, Half Fare Travelcard and Municipal Saver Day Pass, Half Fare Travelcard and Special Day Pass, or a GA Travelcard.
It is important to buy or validate the 1-day Class Upgrade BEFORE the scheduled time of departure.
The 1-day Class Upgrade is valid wherever the GA Travelcard is valid, in other words, within the GA Travelcard area of validity. Valid on the date selected until 5am the following day.
