Zurich–Basel–Leipzig–Dresden–Prague night train.
Thanks to an additional night train running through Germany from Zürich HB to Prague via Basel SBB, you can now also reach Leipzig and Dresden by night train.
Zurich–Basel–Hamburg and Zurich–Basel–Berlin night trains.
The number of seats available on night trains to Hamburg and Berlin will be increased over the course of the year.
Zurich–Basel–Paris TGV.
The direct connection from Zurich to Paris in the evening will run an hour later, now departing Zürich HB at 18:34 and Basel SBB at 19:34.
Basel SBB–Bern–Brig.
The current IC61 Basel SBB–Interlaken Ost now runs as the IC6 to Brig every two hours. This means that passengers from the Basel area, Liestal and Olten can benefit from new direct connections to leisure destinations in Valais. The frequency of service on each section of the route remains the same; however, at certain hours, a change in Bern will now be required for some routes.
Basel SBB–Brugg–Zurich Airport.
Some IR 36 Basel SBB–Brugg–Zurich Airport connections will be operated with the new Mouette (‘Gull’) long-distance train over the next three years. The Mouette enables step-free access on the Airtrain.
