RER Vaud’s S1 and S2 lines will be extended on weekdays between Cully and Lausanne. This means that together with S3 and S4 lines, four trains an hour will run between Cully and Cossonay-Penthalaz from 06:00 to 21:00. In the Lausanne agglomeration, the train gets you to your destination faster than the bus or car. Services are most frequent at the most important stations.

Prilly-Malley station is now served every hour by five RER Vaud lines, instead of three as previously.

These new services can be operated thanks to the entry into service of the new flyover between Prilly-Malley and Renens and the new fourth track between Lausanne and Renens.

RER Vaud trains now run between Lausanne and Renens VD at a frequency of six per hour from Monday to Sunday. Only the S3 line does not serve Prilly-Malley.

The S3 line now runs from Vallorbe to St-Maurice on Mondays to Fridays all day long, every hour. Changes to InterRegio 90 trains to or from Brig are possible at St-Maurice. Between Aigle and St-Maurice, mid-morning trains which did not previously run have been reinstated. At weekends, the S3 line runs between Vallorbe and Aigle.

TER trains arriving in Vallorbe connect to S3 RER Vaud services towards Lausanne. Passengers for Le Brassus change at Le Day, where a connection with line S4 towards Le Brassus is provided. In the opposite direction, TER trains travelling from Vallorbe towards Pontarlier connect to the S3, S4 or S lines, depending on the time of departure.

The S3 line Vallorbe–Le Day–Aigle(–St-Maurice) replaces the S22 line. There are several new developments:

• A new service departs Le Brassus at 05:35 on Mondays to Fridays and arrives at Le Day at 06:10. It continues directly to St-Maurice (no changes required), arriving in Lausanne at 07:00.
• The train which previously arrived in Le Brassus at 06:31 now arrives earlier at 06:21. It runs from Lausanne, no longer from Vallorbe, as previously.
• The train arriving in Le Brassus at 00:21 now runs from Monday to Sunday.

The S2 line will be renumbered and become the S4 (Vallorbe–)/Le Brassus–Le Day–Aigle(–St-Maurice) line. Main change: The Vallorbe–Le Day section of the route is only served on weekdays. At weekends, connections are provided by bus between Vallorbe and Le Day.

The R line Le Brassus–Vallorbe will be renumbered and become the S line. Here is a summary of the timetable:

• Departures from Vallorbe to Le Brassus at 04:45, 07:21 and 17:23. The train which departed from Vallorbe at 18:23 will no longer run.
• Departures from Le Brassus to Vallorbe at 04:57 (this train continues directly as line S3 Vallorbe–Le Day–Aigle(–St-Maurice) arriving in Lausanne at 06:25), 05:55 (5:53 since 6 February 2023) and 16:02.

Due to works on the line, there will be a reduced service offer in the evenings from Sunday to Thursday between Lausanne and St-Maurice. RegioExpress services (Genève-Aéroport–)/Annemasse–Genève–Lausanne–Vevey–St-Maurice will no longer run beyond Lausanne. S4 services (Vallorbe–)/Le Brassus–Le Day–Aigle(–St-Maurice) will be extended from Aigle to St-Maurice, replacing the RegioExpress services which no longer run beyond Lausanne.

RER Vaud lines will be renumbered and in some cases run on new routes.

The transformation of Cully station has enabled the creation of two new platforms and the extension and raising of platforms to enable step-free access. New access ramps and shelters have been built. Cully station is now accessible to passengers with reduced mobility. Its reconfiguration makes it possible for trains on the new S1 Grandson–Lausanne(–Cully) and S2 Grandson–Lausanne(–Cully) lines to turn around at the station, meaning that RER Vaud’s service provision can be expanded between Cully and Cossonay-Penthalaz.

Cossonay-Penthalaz station has been modernised to provide greater comfort and improve safety. The station now has raised platforms allowing for step-free boarding, two underpasses, one of which is equipped with ramps, and a new roof over the main platform. It is now accessible to passengers with reduced mobility.
