The previous direct connections from Basel (departing at 07.04/08.04), via Lucerne (departing at 08.18/09.18), through the Gotthard Base Tunnel to Locarno (arriving at 10.15/11.15) will now operate daily.
Due to construction work, the timetable will be delayed by half an hour from 1 April to 25 October 2019 on Monday to Friday (departing from Sissach at xx.59, departing from Olten at xx.35).
Olten–Zurich main station
The S11 will operate all day from Aarau/Dietikon to Winterthur–Seuzach/Sennhof (to Wila in times of peak traffic) and will replace the S3 between Aarau/Dietikon and Zurich Hardbrücke. The RE Wettingen–Olten service will always arrive at Brugg AG at xx.59 (instead of xx.00). In times of peak traffic, the S11 will be condensed to a half-hourly service between Aargau und Dietikon. These trains will not call at Othmarsingen. The S11 will operate with 300 m trains and offer additional seating in times of peak traffic.
Aarau–Lenzburg / Othmarsingen–Wohlen–Rotkreuz
The S26 will arrive at Rotkreuz on the hour and will now travel to Olten (instead of Aarau). Olten offers connections to the IC trains to Bern and Lucerne. The S26 will no longer stop at Rupperswil. To partially compensate for this (on the Aarau–Rupperswil section of the route), the S29 will now operate a half-hourly service every day. An additional train pair comprising the S42 leaving from Zurich main station for Muri AG at 7.40 and from Muri AG for Zurich main station at 08.32 will be in operation.
