Glacier Express AG.

All Glacier Express trains have a wheelchair space and an accessible toilet in 1st class. For assistance with boarding and alighting, please contact the SBB Contact Center Handicap at least 24 hours in advance.

Due to the available space and the applicable regulations, only the following wheelchairs can be transported on the Glacier Express:

• Manual wheelchairs with no motor (max. length: 125cm; max. width: 70cm)
• Electric wheelchairs (max. length: 125cm; max. width: 70cm; max. weight 300kg)
• Swiss Trac (the electric drive aid must be disconnected)

Brig–Zermatt.

Domino low-floor trains run on this line (except for connections 6009 and 6030 from Monday to Friday). Same-level boarding and alighting is possible at all railway stations. With the exception of the following railway stations: Le Day, Le Pont, Les Charbonnières, Le Séchey and Les Esserts-de-Rive.

At the railway stations in Le Lieu and Sentier-Orient, same-level boarding and alighting is possible only on platform 1 (see online timetable). Please call 021 845 55 15 for information.

R Yverdon-les-Bains–Ste-Croix.

Domino low-floor trains run on this line for all connections. Same-level boarding and alighting is possible at all railway stations. With the exception of the following railway stations: La Brinaz and Six-Fontaines. At Baulmes railway station, same-level boarding and alighting is not possible if the train arrives at platform two (only used in case of technical disruptions).

All TPC trains running in both directions on the Aigle–Leysin (AL) and Bex–Villars-Bretaye (BVB) lines have designated space for wheelchair users. None of the passenger coaches have a lowered floor. Level-floor access is not possible. The following stations are equipped with a Mobilift:

At Martigny station the departure platform (track 50) is not yet up to Lhand standards (planned for the end of 2022 with the SBB works at Martigny station). 

Assistance is organised by means of an access ramp with the help of the locomotive drivers. Requests must therefore reach us at least 72 hours before the journey (info@regionalps.chLink opens in new window. / 027 720 47 47).

Articulated railcars with low-floor access operate on the Thurbo regional railway. On each platform there is a space for a traveller in a wheelchair. The 3-part trains (with 3 boarding doors) have an auxiliary step at the middle door that bridges the gap between the train and the platform edge and thus facilitates boarding and alighting. If you are a wheelchair user and require assistance with boarding a low-floor train, please wait at stations and stops (without assistance step) with a sufficient platform width and a boarding height between the platform and the vehicle of less than 20cm at the head of the train. Make the locomotive crew aware of your wish to board by raising your hand. We are happy to assist you to board with a folding ramp.
