SBB Green Class pilot projects.

SBB and its partners are breaking new ground in the world of sustainable door-to-door mobility. In two pilot projects, SBB gave some enthusiastic mobility pioneers the chance to test out innovative combined mobility offers over the course of a year as part of a research project. The aim of the project was to gain an insight into how customers will travel in the future and what mobility needs they have.

For the purpose of a research project, SBB Green Class E-Car combines a 1st class GA travelcard, a fully electric BMW i3, a P+Rail parking space at the station, Mobility Carsharing and PubliBike in one mobility package for the first time. The mobility pioneers participating in the project also benefit from additional mobility services.

In 2016, 2,500 people applied for the 100 places on the SBB Green Class pilot project. 138 mobility pioneers combined ultimately environmentally sound forms of transport on the roads with public transport. At the end of 2017, around 70 percent of the pilot customers extended their combined mobility solution by a year.
