With the Children’s Co-Travelcard, children aged 6 or over and under 16 can travel throughout Switzerland free of charge for a whole year when accompanied by an adult. This companion can be any person aged 16 or over. They must hold a valid ticket for the journey in 1st or 2nd class. The Children’s Co-Travelcard costs CHF 30 for each companion.
Buy a Children’s Co-Travelcard.
You can get the Children’s Co-Travelcard at any staffed ticket counter. To issue the card, we require the personal details of both the companion and the child they are accompanying. You will need a separate Children’s Co-Travelcard for each combination of child and companion.
When purchasing a travelcard, please bring a passport or another form of official identification with you that shows the child’s date of birth. There is no limit to the number of Children’s Co-Travelcard purchases.
Validity.
The Children’s Co-Travelcard is valid anywhere within the Half Fare Travelcard area. In addition, children can travel with their companion free of charge or at a discounted price on most tram and bus lines operated by local transport companies. A maximum of four children with valid Children’s Co-Travelcard can be accompanied by one person. The Children’s Co-Travelcard is not valid for schools, institutions, associations, companies, institutions and organisations etc. that are travelling as a group.
Forgotten your Children’s Co-Travelcard?
If you have left your Children’s Co-Travelcard at home, you can buy a temporary replacement card from the counter for a fee of CHF 5.00. Simply present an official form of identification. Prices and products are subject to change.
