Discounts for children.

Children always travel at low cost or even free of charge on public transport throughout Switzerland.

Children under six years of age.

Accompanied children under six years travel free of charge. The accompanying person must be at least 12 years old and hold a valid ticket. They may take up to four children with them free of charge. From 16 years of age, up to eight children may travel with them for free. For each additional child, half-price tickets must be purchased or any designated minimum fare paid.

Children aged between six and 16 years.

Children from the age of six up to their 16th birthday and children under six travelling alone have to purchase a half-price ticket or pay any designated minimum fare.

1-day travelpass for children.

When accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket, children aged six to 16 years can travel 2nd class for CHF 16 for the whole day. The 1-day travelpass for children costs CHF 32 for 1st class.

GA travelcard for children.

Children aged six to 16 years can obtain the GA travelcard for 1st or 2nd class at a reduced price. You can purchase it as a GA travelcard with annual or monthly billing.

Junior travelcard.

With the Junior travelcard for CHF 30, children from the age of six up to their 16th birthday can travel on public transport for a whole year, accompanied by a parent with a valid ticket.

Children’s Co-travelcard.

With the Children’s Co-travelcard for CHF 30, one child from six years can travel throughout Switzerland for a whole year. It is valid for children up to their 16th birthday accompanied by a person holding a valid ticket.

Please note that you must bring an official form of identification for the child to the counter when purchasing tickets and travelcards.
