Discounts for children.
Children always travel at low cost or even free of charge on public transport throughout Switzerland.
Children under 6 years of age.
Children under 6 years1 travel free of charge when accompanied by a person holding a valid ticket. The accompanying person must be at least 12 years old and may then take up to 4 children with them free of charge. From 16 years of age, up to 8 children may travel with them. Half-price tickets must be purchased for each additional child, or any designated minimum fare must be paid.
Children aged between 6 and 16 years.
Children from the age of 6 up to their 16th birthday and children under 6 years travelling alone have to pay the half-price ticket or any designated minimum fare.
1-day travelpass for children.
When accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket, children aged 6 to 16 years can travel 2nd class for CHF 16 for the whole day. The 1-day travelpass for children costs CHF 32 for 1st class.
GA travelcard for children.
Children aged 6 to 16 years can obtain the GA travelcard on the SwissPass for 1st or 2nd class at a reduced price. You can purchase it as a GA travelcard with annual or monthly bill.
With the Junior travelcard for CHF 30, children aged 6 to 16 years may travel on public transport all year when accompanied by a parent with a valid ticket.
With the grandchild travelcard for CHF 30 per year, children aged 6 to 16 years may travel anywhere in Switzerland accompanied by a grandparent with a valid ticket.
With the Children’s Co-travelcard for 30 Swiss Francs per year, children from the age of six up to their 16th birthday can travel throughout Switzerland accompanied by someone holding a valid ticket.
