When reserving seats for train journeys to Europe, different prices and provisions apply according to the country. The following gives further information for various European countries.
Germany.
You can reserve your seats when purchasing tickets at SBB.ch (step 4 – "Reservations"). It is not obligatory to reserve seats but we recommend it.
France.
It is obligatory to reserve seats for connections using the TGV and this is included in the ticket price. You can buy tickets at SBB.ch and have them sent to your home address, or you can pick them up from your station. Get print@home tickets for your travels from and to Paris.
Italy.
It is obligatory to reserve seats for connections to Italy and this is included in the ticket price. You can buy tickets at SBB.ch and have them sent to your home address, or you can pick them up from your station. Get print@home tickets for your travels on EC trains.
Austria.
You can reserve your seats when purchasing tickets at SBB.ch (step 4 – "Reservations"). It is not obligatory to reserve seats but we recommend it.
Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark and the Czech Republic.
