Buy your Swiss Half Fare Card conveniently online. Find out how you can also show your Swiss Half Fare Card in the SBB Mobile app in the step-by-step instructions.
If you want to show your Swiss Half Fare Card in the SBB Mobile app (the SBB timetable app) for the ticket inspection, then sign in with your login when you buy it. There’s another advantage too: you can also buy your half-price / reduced price tickets right away and show them in the app.
Open the SwissPass page
swisspass.ch Click ‘Register’.
Select ‘No SwissPass’.
Fill in your first name, last name and date of birth (no address).
Click ‘Next’.
Enter your e-mail and password.
You will receive an activation code by e-mail.
Enter this activation code.
Now you are logged in and can purchase the Swiss Half Fare Card. If you add children aged 6 or over and under 16, you will also receive the Swiss Family Card automatically free of charge.
After purchase, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
Download the SBB Mobile app (free of charge for iOS and Android) onto your smartphone, sign in with the e-mail and password from Step 6 and you will see the Swiss Half Fare Card (plus any Swiss Family Card) when you click on the tab ‘Tickets & Travelcards’.
To be able to buy tickets at half price, you need to click on the ‘Tickets & Travelcards’ tab at the bottom in the app, then on ‘Enter travelcard’ and then select ‘Half Fare Travelcard (1/2)’ and complete the process with ‘Save’. After this point, you can buy tickets at half price.
When you buy online without a login (as a guest), you receive the Swiss Half Fare Card by e-mail as a QR code. Show this QR code during the ticket inspection. (There is no option to show the Swiss Half Fare Card in the SBB Mobile app when you purchase as a guest.) However, you can still buy and show half-price / reduced price tickets in the app.
