Already have a ticket, Day Pass or GA Travelcard for 2nd class and want to enjoy the comfort of 1st class for the best possible price? Take advantage of a discount of up to 50% when you upgrade from 2nd class to 1st with the Supersaver Class Upgrade. Available only in the SBB Mobile / Preview app.

What the Supersaver Class Upgrade offers.

A discount of up to 50% when you upgrade from 2nd class to 1st.

Book early to have the best chance of saving up to 50% when you upgrade to 1st class. Supersaver Class Upgrades can be purchased up to six months before your desired day of travel but only according to availability.

With a Supersaver Class Upgrade, you can change to 1st class on your desired route and enjoy more legroom and comfort when you travel.

No surcharge for children with a Junior Travelcard or Children’s Co-Travelcard.

If the children have a Junior Travelcard or a Children’s Co-Travelcard and you as a parent or adult companion have a 2nd class ticket plus a Supersaver Class Upgrade, the children can travel with you in 1st class free of charge. Note: Children under 6 always travel free of charge and do not need a ticket.

Discounts with GA Travelcards, Half Fare Travelcards and for children.

Children aged at least 6 and under 16, and passengers with a Half Fare Travelcard or a 2nd class GA Travelcard can get the Supersaver Class Upgrade at a discounted price. Passengers aged over 16 who do not have a Half Fare Travelcard or a 2nd class GA Travelcard pay full price for the Supersaver Class Upgrade.

Purchasing.

The Supersaver Class Upgrade is easy to buy in the SBB Mobile app.

Only valid with 2nd class tickets.

To change to 1st class, you need to have one of the following 2nd class tickets as a basis: standard fare ticket, Supersaver Ticket, Day Pass for the Half Fare Travelcard, Saver Day Pass, Municipal Saver Day Pass, special Day Pass, GA Travelcard or a Regional Travelcard / Point-to-Point Travelcard / Modular Travelcard for the route.

Requirement to travel on a specific train.

The Supersaver Class Upgrade is only valid for the chosen public transport connection on the chosen date of travel (requirement to travel on a specific train). It is not possible to change the route or connection.

Limited number available.

The number of Supersaver Class Upgrades is limited and is not available for all connections.

Achat.

Class upgrades for fare networks are available in the SBB Mobile / Preview app, as well as via the sales channels of the relevant fare networks.

Limited refunds.

Supersaver Class Upgrades can only be refunded up to 30 minutes after purchase with a login and otherwise only in exceptional cases.

Here’s how it works:

Enter your desired route and date of travel in the timetable or touch timetable on SBB Mobile or SBB Preview.
Select your preferred connection and tap on ‘Tickets from CHF…’. If the option is available, select ‘Supersaver Class Upgrade’ and complete the purchase process.
If you tap on ‘Edit passengers’, you can buy a Supersaver Class Upgrade for your co-passengers too (provided that enough Supersaver Class Upgrades are available).
