The Zurich Transport Network ZVV unifies all public transport services in the canton of Zurich. The same straightforward fare system applies across the entire ZVV area. Whether your journey is urban or rural, there is only one ticket you need.
ZVV 9 o’clock Day Pass. ZVV 9 o’clock Day Pass. ZVV Zürich Card 24 hours. ZVV Zürich Card 24 hours. ZVV Zürich Card 72 hours. ZVV Zürich Card 72 hours. All ZVV offers. All ZVV offers.
The zone system applies to all tickets across the ZVV fare network. The zone plan shows you how many adjoining zones (areas) you need to purchase to get from A to B. Whether you travel by train, bus or tram – within the zones covered and the period of validity, all public transport services are included within the fare.
The Junior Travelcard and the Children’s Co-Travelcard – the family discounts of the Swiss transport companies – are also valid within the ZVV.
If you have a Half Fare Travelcard, you benefit from reduced prices on all single, group or multiple-journey tickets and Day Passes.
Within the ZVV nighttime network, you can make your way home by public transport at the weekend, on public holidays and during special events safely and in comfort, also at night.
With your ZVV ticket, you benefit from discounts of up to 50% on numerous leisure time activities.
ZVV tickets and travelcards can be purchased online at SBB.ch and in the SBB Mobile / Preview app, as well as from ticket machines and staffed points of sale within the fare network area.
Buy ZVV travelcards online at SBB.ch and at points of sale within the fare network. They will be integrated onto the SwissPass.

You can get information and answers to questions about ZVV from the SBB Contact Center on 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min., 24/7).
- If you would like to travel beyond the limits of your ZVV ticket, you will need a zone upgrade. This will be needed from the last timetabled stop within your ZVV ticket to the final stop of your journey.
- If you have a valid ZVV ticket that connects to a Z-Pass ticket area, you can continue your journey using both tickets together, as long as the transport service used has a timetabled stop within one of the ZVV zones (1xx) listed on the Z-Pass.
- If your train does not stop in the ZVV zones you purchased, your ZVV ticket is not valid. Please buy a standard-price ticket instead (or a Supersaver Ticket).
The ZVV fare network provides all the regulations regarding the purchase and validation of tickets, ticket inspections, replacements, refunds, irregularities and much more.
