The HochRhein Ticket is ideal for journeys between the A-Welle fare network and the Waldshut fare network (WTV). It offers a practical public transport solution for anyone who commutes across the border for work or leisure.
The zone system applies to all HochRhein Tickets across the fare network. The zone map shows you how many adjoining zones (areas) you need to purchase to get from A to B. Whether you travel by train or by bus – within the zones covered and the period of validity, all public transport services are included within the fare.
The HochRhein Ticket is available in three zone options – Mini, Midi and Maxi – as an annual or monthly pass for adults and juniors. It is valid for use on all public transport on both sides of the Upper Rhine within the selected zone options.
Tip: with annual passes, you travel for 12 months but pay for only 10 months.

- If you would like to travel beyond the limits of your HochRhein Ticket, you will need a zone upgrade. This will be needed from the last timetabled stop within your HochRhein Ticket to the final stop of your journey.
- If your train does not stop in the HochRhein Ticket zones you purchased, your HochRhein Ticket is not valid. Please buy a standard fare ticket instead (or a Supersaver Ticket).
