Marching orders 1st class including entitlement to luggage transport:
The conditions for the entitlement to luggage transport for members of the army with valid 1st class marching orders are shown on the marching orders themselves.
The entitlement to luggage transport on 1st class marching orders does not apply at the following stations: Andeer, Bettmeralp, Bever, Blatten bei Naters, Celerina, Flims, Gornergrat, Grächen, Hasliberg-Wasserwendi, Lenk-Simmental, Lenzerheide, Leukerbad, Maloja, Melchsee-Frutt, Mörel, Münster VS, Müstair, Reckingen, Riederalp, Riffelalp, Riffelberg, Saas-Almagell, Saas-Grund, Samnaun Dorf, Savognin, Sils/Segl Maria, Silvaplana, Sörenberg, Unterbäch, Wiler (Lötschen), Zermatt Gornergrat Bahn
Maximum weight for luggage and ski equipment: 23kg.
Packaging requirement.
Skis, ski boots and snowboards can be packed separately in pairs in an appropriate public transport cover. Transport covers can be obtained in advance at a station with luggage check-in or during check-in.
Personal ski and snowboard bags must not exceed 23kg.
Bicycles and e-bikes can be packed in personal bike bags or in bike cases with wheels. Otherwise, public transport covers will be used during check-in.
Objects must not be tied together.
The luggage to be transported must be labelled with a name, address and telephone number and be packed appropriately.
Free storage on the day of arrival and the following four days. Every subsequent day costs CHF 5.
The shipping of luggage is only possible with a valid ticket for the entire transport route or with a valid annual travelcard (GA Travelcard, Half Fare Travelcard, Point-to-Point Travelcard, Regional Travelcard, GA Travelcard for SBB employees, Night GA Travelcard, Modular Travelcard) and is not possible if it involves commercial consignments and private consignments unrelated to travel (e.g. perishable foods such as dairy or meat products, purchased or ordered items, shipping of goods sold/ordered, merchandise, removals, etc.).
Liability for the partial or total loss, damage and delayed delivery of luggage shall be governed by the Swiss Federal Passenger Transportation Act (PTA) and the applicable Passenger Transportation Ordinance of the Swiss Federal Council.
Luggage station to station is mainly transported by rail. Micro-distribution is carried out by road. The public transport sector currently handles an average of 70% of luggage transport by rail and 30% by road.
