Imperial residences.

Schönbrunn Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site and became known to many people through the Sissi films. Walk in the footsteps of the Hapsburg monarchy on a tour of the many palace rooms.

The Belvedere, on the other hand, is not only a magnificent baroque palace, but also houses one of the most valuable art collections in Austria – with major works by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka.

World capital of music.

There is probably no other city where more famous and outstanding composers have left their mark. The range of musical experiences on offer is vast. The city’s concert halls and stages offer everything from classical to pop concerts, with one festival after the other all year round. Opera fans will meet international stars here and jazz lovers will find a vibrant jazz scene.

Art nouveau and modernity.

Alongside the well-known Gothic and baroque buildings, art nouveau occupies a fixed place in Viennese architecture. At the turn of the 20th century, prominent architects like Otto Wagner and Adolf Loos erected world-famous buildings such as the Secession, the Postal Savings Bank and the Loos House. The city is also replete with modern architecture, such as the University of Vienna campus or the MuseumsQuartier.

Viennese cafés.

Viennese coffee houses are known around the globe for their informal pleasantness, as oases of ‘gemütlichkeit’. Traditional cafés entice visitors with a wide variety of coffee house specialities, international newspapers, and the finest cakes and pastries. What’s more, modern and hip representatives of the coffee house are enriching the tradition with stylish flair. Their pie and cake specialities are the icing on Vienna’s dolce vita in the form of Bundt cake and Sacher torte.
