If you take a train with low-floor boarding, you can also easily board with pushchairs. But what is the safest way to do things if you have to go up a few stairs? Here is a tip from our on-board staff:
It is even easier to board if you hold the child in your arms beforehand and fold up the pushchair/buggy.
If you have luggage, for instance because you are going on holiday or to the airport with your family, then we recommend that you check it in. It costs money and takes a bit longer, but it means that you can concentrate more on the children. And it is easier to board, change and alight.
If you do still decide to take your luggage with you on the train, then check the occupancy when you choose your train and avoid trains with two or three red bars. Sit downstairs on double-decker trains or choose a family coach.
Check in luggage and travel luggageYou can either load bikes onto the train yourself or check them in as luggage. In this situation too, less is more when travelling as a family. So we recommend that you check in your bikes or rent them at your holiday destination.

You can also check in your skiing equipment as luggage. Tip: hire your winter sports equipment. If you buy Snow’n’Rail combined offers, you even receive a discount from Intersport Rent.
