Free WiFi is available on all Giruno and Astoro trains to Germany and Italy – regardless of your class of travel.
Once you have connected to the ‘SBB-FREE’ train WiFi, you can surf the net for free on Swiss and international routes.
Open ‘Settings’ on your device and search for the ‘WiFi’, ‘Connections’ or ‘Network & Internet’ section (the exact name may vary depending on the device manufacturer and version).
Activate your WiFi and select the ‘SBB-FREE’ network to connect. You will be taken to a registration page.
There are two ways to sign in on the registration page: using your SwissPass login or via an access code sent by text.
Sign in with your SwissPass login.
Click on the button ‘Register with SwissPass’. You will be redirected automatically to the SwissPass login page. Enter your login details and click on ‘Sign in’. Registration with a SwissPass login is only possible if your customer account is linked to your SwissPass card.
Log in with a code sent by SMS text.
Enter your telephone number in the space provided. Then click on ‘Request access code’. A code will be sent to you by text within one minute. Enter it into the space provided, then click on ‘Submit registration’.
Once you are connected to the WiFi network, you can use the internet free of charge. The quality of the WiFi service depends largely on the available mobile network coverage.
